X Money and XRP: What the Cross River and SBI Documents Say

X Money's bank, Cross River, added RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. Then SBI signed an MOU with its parent, CRB Group. Here's what the documents say about XRP.

Video: X Money and XRP: What the Cross River and SBI Documents Say

Key takeaways

  • Cross River Bank holds the money for Elon Musk's X Money. On October 15, 2026, Cross River said it is adding Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin with support for XRP Ledger transactions.
  • According to the video, X Money's own FAQ mentions crypto, XRP, RLUSD and stablecoins zero times. The bank has connected to the XRP Ledger, but the app has not announced any crypto feature.
  • SBI Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding, not a final deal, with Cross River's parent, CRB Group, on October 28, 2026. The video's count found no mention of XRP, Ripple or Elon Musk in SBI's notice.
  • The video argues that SBI's main interest is its own yen stablecoin, JPYSC. It also notes that SBI lists 2026 deals with Solana, the Canton Network, XDC and Circle.
  • The video names three things to watch: a signed definitive agreement, the size of SBI's investment, and any crypto feature appearing in X Money's FAQ.

Elon Musk’s X Money has not announced any XRP or crypto feature. Its bank, Cross River, said on October 15, 2026 that it is adding Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin with XRP Ledger support. On October 28, SBI Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding with Cross River’s parent. The video found no mention of XRP in X Money’s FAQ or in SBI’s notice.

That matters if you hold XRP because you expect big names to arrive. Within two weeks in October 2026, Ripple’s stablecoin and SBI both arrived at the New Jersey bank that holds X Money’s funds. A Bullrunners video hosted by Ryan Huggins reviewed five documents: X Money’s FAQ, two bank releases, an SEC filing and SBI’s notice. The aim was to separate what is written down from what is being read into it.

What is Cross River Bank and how is it linked to X Money?

Cross River Bank is the bank partner behind X Money, Elon Musk’s payments service inside X. The bank is based in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Most people never see it because it works behind other companies’ apps.

X Money began rolling out to US Premium and Premium Plus subscribers on July 27, 2026, according to X’s launch post. A Firstpost report shown in the video says the service promises instant transfers, peer-to-peer payments and metal debit cards for premium subscribers. X Money’s FAQ answers the bank question directly: its bank partner is Cross River Bank.

How long has Cross River been linked to Ripple?

Cross River Bank’s ties to Ripple go back to 2014. A Ripple press release dated September 24, 2014 named Cross River as one of the first US banks that would use the Ripple protocol for real-time international payments. So the bank behind X Money has been in Ripple’s orbit for about 12 years, long before it worked with Musk.

Did X Money’s bank plug into the XRP Ledger?

The bank did, but X Money did not. On October 15, 2026, Cross River said it is partnering with Ripple to put RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar stablecoin, into its core banking system. The release also covers support for transactions on the XRP Ledger. According to the host, some coverage read the news as Musk adopting XRP.

The video points to two details that cut against that reading:

  • The last line of Cross River’s release, the video says, states that the services are currently only available in limited states.
  • The host says he searched X Money’s FAQ and found the words crypto, XRP, RLUSD and stablecoin zero times each.

As the video puts it, X Money’s bank plugged into the XRP Ledger, but X Money has not, at least not yet. Bullrunners has looked at whether bank adoption like this creates demand for the coin in its piece on RLUSD inside Cross River Bank. It also helps to understand how RLUSD differs from XRP, because a bank using Ripple’s stablecoin is not the same as a bank holding XRP.

What did SBI Holdings sign with Cross River?

SBI Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CRB Group, the company that owns Cross River, on October 28, 2026. The video calls the MOU “an agreement to keep talking.” According to SBI’s notice, it has three parts:

  1. A joint venture in Japan. The video summarizes its focus as tokenized loans, cross-border payments and payments for AI agents.
  2. A strategic investment by SBI Holdings in CRB Group. The notice gives no amount and no stake size.
  3. A stablecoin. SBI wants to put JPYSC, its trust-type yen-denominated stablecoin, onto Cross River’s platform.

The video says Cross River placed the notice at the top of its own newsroom, so both sides have made it public.

Who is SBI and why does it matter to XRP holders?

SBI is one of Ripple’s oldest partners. When Evernorth, the XRP treasury company, closed its Nasdaq deal, SBI held the largest share of Evernorth’s vote. The relationship timeline:

Date Event
January 28, 2016 Ripple and SBI announce SBI Ripple Asia to sell Ripple’s system to banks across Asia
August 22, 2025 Ripple and SBI announce a plan for SBI’s crypto exchange to distribute RLUSD in Japan
October 20, 2025 Evernorth launches; its release says the deal includes $200 million from SBI
June 24, 2026 RLUSD goes live in Japan
October 9, 2026 Evernorth’s Nasdaq deal closes; SBI holds about 39.9% of the voting power
October 28, 2026 SBI signs the MOU with Cross River’s parent

The 39.9% figure comes from Evernorth’s filing with the SEC. For background on the company, see Bullrunners’ explainer on how the Evernorth XRP treasury company works.

Does SBI’s notice mention XRP or Elon Musk?

According to the video, no. The host counted these terms in SBI’s notice:

Term Times mentioned
XRP 0
Ripple 0
RLUSD 0
XRP Ledger 0
X 0
Evernorth 0
JPYSC 2
Elon Musk 0

The video says the closest the notice gets to X is one line. It says Cross River helped bring the first peer-to-peer payment experience within a US social media platform to market. That describes X Money without naming it. The host stresses that Elon Musk is not part of the deal. SBI’s agreement is with the bank’s parent company.

The host also addresses the obvious reaction. Ripple’s partner buying into X Money’s bank days after that bank added Ripple’s stablecoin looks like more than coincidence. He says it may or may not be, and that he will keep following the story. Nothing on paper explains why, and neither SBI nor Cross River has written down a reason. Any link to XRP is speculation at this stage.

What does SBI actually want from Cross River?

SBI’s notice points to its yen stablecoin, JPYSC. SBI calls it Japan’s first trust-type yen-denominated stablecoin. According to the video, SBI’s news page that week listed an October 27 agreement with BlackRock and Startale to connect tokenized money market funds with JPYSC. The Cross River MOU followed on October 28. That is two deals in two days, with the same coin at the center.

The video’s reading is this. Cross River already has Ripple’s dollar stablecoin. SBI, which distributes RLUSD in Japan, now wants to add its own yen coin at the same bank. In the host’s view, that is SBI bringing its own product to a US bank, not SBI choosing against Ripple.

The video also notes that SBI’s 2026 news page lists deals with Solana, the Canton Network, XDC and Circle. Ripple is one of SBI’s oldest partners, not its only one. If money ever moves between dollars and yen at Cross River, the notice does not say which rails it would use. It fits a pattern Bullrunners has covered before: a Ripple win is not automatically an XRP win.

How to read headlines like this one

The host’s approach was to read the primary documents and count the words. Bullrunners has turned that into a simple check you can use on any partnership headline:

  1. Find the primary documents: the company releases, any regulatory filing and the product’s own FAQ.
  2. Search each one for the word you care about, such as XRP, and count it.
  3. Read the last lines and fine print for limits like “limited states” or “subject to definitive agreements.”
  4. Check who signed with whom. A deal with a bank’s parent is not a deal with the bank’s customers.
  5. Label anything left over as interpretation, not fact.

What to watch next

The video lists three things, in order:

  1. A signed deal. The video says every item in SBI’s notice is subject to further discussions, the execution of definitive agreements, and approvals in Japan and the US. An MOU is an agreement to keep talking.
  2. The investment amount. SBI said it will invest in CRB Group but not how much. When a number appears, it will show how serious the commitment is.
  3. X Money’s FAQ. According to the video, it does not mention crypto once right now. If that page ever adds RLUSD or XRP, the story becomes about X Money. Until then, as the host puts it, the paper shows a bank, a yen coin and a 39.9% vote.

Elon's X money bank just plugged into the XRP ledger. It's true, folks.

That was October 16th, 2026. The bank is real. It's called Cross River, and it holds the money for Elon Musk's X money. But 12 days later, on October 28th, that same bank let a new player in. A company that wants to put money into it and open a business with it in Japan.

And you've heard the name before, SBI. The company that's been with Ripple since 2016, and that holds the biggest vote at Evernorth, the XRP treasury company. 39% of Evernorth's vote. So, I read SBI's whole announcement. Here's what's in it, and the one word that isn't.

If you hold XRP because you think big names are coming, this one's about you. Because this week, three of the names that you've been told to watch, Musk's X, Ripple, and SBI, all touched the same bank. That's real, and I'll show you every document. So, here's the question for the rest of this. Did any of them actually say XRP?

The official link is also in the description below this video. Let's run it. All right, Bull Runners, Ryan Huggins, aka @winwithryan here. Welcome back to the channel. Then, start with the bank, because most people have never heard of it.

Cross River Bank is in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and most people never see it because it works behind other companies' apps. And since this summer, it's the bank behind X money.

Remember when he bought Twitter? He didn't just want another social media platform. He wanted an everything app. Today, that vision is becoming reality through X money. A digital payments platform that promises instant transfers, peer-to-peer payments, exclusive metal debit cards available for premium X subscribers.

That's first post, the day after X money rolled out on July 27th, 2026. X posted that X money is rolling out to US premium and premium plus subscribers starting today. And X's own FAQ answers the bank question in two words. Who is the bank partner for money? Cross River Bank.

But Cross River knew Ripple long before it knew Musk.

Now, this partnership, I know you're thinking, "Sensei, Cross River Bank, where have I heard that before?" One with X money, but two with Ripple going back to 2014. Yeah, just over 12 years ago was the original announcement dated September 24, 2014.

That checks out. On Ripple's own press page, September 24th, 2014, Cross River Bank is one of the first US banks that will use the Ripple protocol. So, the bank behind X money has been in Ripple's world for 12 years. And remember that, because it's not the only one. Now, the news that everybody made a video about.

Cross River Bank, the bank that powers X money, is now working with Ripple RLUSD and the XRP Ledger to integrate into its core banking infrastructure.

On October 15th, 2026, Cross River said it's partnering with Ripple to put RLUSD, Ripple's dollar coin, onto its core banking system with support for transactions on the XRP Ledger. It's the bank's own release, and the video's title says Elon Musk just adopted XRP. But read the bottom of that release, the last line. Services are currently only available in limited states. And go back to X Money's FAQ.

I searched the whole thing. Crypto, zero times. XRP, zero times. RLUSD, zero. Stablecoin, zero.

Therefore, the honest version is this: X Money's bank plugged into the XRP ledger, X Money didn't, not yet. And then, 13 days later, somebody else walked into the same bank. On October 28, 2026, SBI Holdings in Tokyo put out a notice. And it says, SBI has entered into a memorandum of understanding with CRB Group, the companies that own Cross River. Three things are in it.

One, a joint venture in Japan, tokenized loans, cross-border payments, and payments for AI agents. Two, money. SBI Holdings will make a strategic investment in CRB Group. No amount, no stake, just that sentence. And three, a coin.

SBI wants to put the trust-type yen-denominated stablecoin, JPYSC, onto Cross River's platform. That's SBI's own yen coin. Cross River put that notice at the very top of its own newsroom. So, both sides are saying it out loud. Most people will see X Money Bank and see SBI in the same headline and then stop reading right there.

And if you'd rather know what you actually hold and where it sits while these companies line up, that's what we work through with our clients inside of SGS System at Altcoin Pro. And it's a very simple, easy click the first link down in the description. So, who is SBI? And why does the name matter to you? Because SBI isn't new to Ripple.

It's one of the oldest names Ripple has. January 28, 2016, Ripple and SBI announced the creation of SBI Ripple Asia, a company to sell Ripple's system to banks across Asia. August 22, 2025, Ripple and SBI designed a deal for SBI's crypto exchange to distribute Ripple USD or RLUSD in Japan. It went live there on June 24, 2026. And then, Evernorth.

When Evernorth launched on October 20th, 2025, its release said the deal included $200 million from SBI. Here's the CEO of Evernorth on October 28, 2026, the same day SBI signed with Cross River.

Thanks for having me here at my 10th Swell. It's super exciting. Every year gets bigger and bigger, and you know, we're fresh off the Nasdaq. That was an exciting time to be here in Times Square on on the Nasdaq just 10 days ago.

And here's the number in Evernorth's own filing with the SEC. When the Nasdaq deal closed on October 9, 2026, SBI held approximately 39.9% of PubCo's voting power. PubCo is Evernorth. So, the biggest voter Evernorth, Ripple's partner in Asia for 10 years, and the company handing out RUSD in Japan is now on its way into the bank behind X money. But, here's what I came for.

I went through SBI's notice word by word. Here's the count. When I searched for XRP, zero times. Ripple, zero times. RUSD, zero times.

The XRP ledger, zero times. X, zero. Evernorth, zero. The yen coin, JPYSC, twice. And Elon Musk isn't in it at all.

The closest it gets is one line saying Cross River helped bring the first peer-to-peer payment experience within a US social media platform to market, and that's X money without the name. So, to be clear, Elon Musk is not part of this deal. SBI's deal is with the bank's parent company, not with X, and not with Musk. And I know what you're probably thinking. Come on, Ripple's partner buys into X money's bank right after the bank adds Ripple's coin.

That's not a coincidence. And maybe it isn't, but nothing on paper says why. SBI didn't write it down, and Cross River didn't either. But, the interesting part is how many coincidences until you realize that there's some sort of connection. So, we'll continue to follow this news, obviously, and where there's fire, so this could be very exciting.

So, if it's not XRP, what does SBI actually want from Cross River? The answer is in the notice. It's coin, JPYSC, which SBI calls Japan's first trust type yen denominated stablecoin. And look at SBI's news page that week, October 27th, an agreement with BlackRock and Startale to connect tokenized money market funds with JPYSC. October 28th, Cross River.

Two days, two deals, and the same coin at the center of both. So, here's the part that nobody's saying. Cross River already has Ripple's dollar coin. On October 15th, it added RLUSD. Then SBI, the company that distributes RLUSD in Japan, came in and asked to add its own yen coin to it next.

That's not SBI choosing against Ripple, it's SBI bringing its own product to an American bank. A dollar coin from Ripple and a yen coin from SBI, possibly at the same bank. And be fair about who SBI is. The same news page list 2026 deals with Solana, the Canton Network, XDC, and Circle. SBI works with a lot of chains.

Ripple is one of its oldest, not its only one. Therefore, if it ever moves money between dollars and yen at Cross River, the question is which rails it runs on. The notice doesn't say. So, here's what's actually next in order. First, the fine print.

Every time in SBI's notice is subject to further discussions, the execution of definitive agreements, and approvals in Japan and the US. An MOU is an agreement to keep talking. So, watch for a signed deal. Second, the amount. SBI said it will invest.

It didn't say how much. And when that number shows up, you'll know how serious this is. Third, XMoney itself. Right now, its FAQ doesn't mention crypto once. If that page ever adds RLUSD or XRP, that's the day this becomes a story about XMoney, not before.

So, go back to the first clip, Elon's XMoney bank just plugged into the XRP ledger. The bank part was true. And now the bank has SBI on its way in. The company with 39.9% of the vote at Evernorth. What nobody can tell you yet is whether any of it ever touches the app in your pocket or the XRP in your wallet.

Two companies Ripple signed more than 10 years ago just found each other. One banks for Elon Musk X and one holds the biggest vote at Evernorth. What neither of them has written down yet is the word XRP. So tell me down in the comment section, would you ever keep money in X money? Yes or no?

Doesn't mean you are or not, just yes or no that you would. Everything in this video came off of a page that you can read. X's own FAQs, two bank releases, an SEC filing, and SBI's notice word for word. The headline said Musk adopted XRP. The paper said a bank, a yen coin, and a 39.9% vote.

That's the word. Knowing which part of a headline is on paper and which part is hope and what it means for your coins that you're holding right now. And that is what we do with our clients at SGS inside of Altcoin Pro. That is designed for people holding $50,000 or more in crypto who've never had anybody walk them through it with them.
