Bearableguy123 and XRP 589: Do His 2018 Clues Predate the News?

Video: Bearableguy123 and XRP 589: Do His 2018 Clues Predate the News?

Key takeaways

  • According to the video, the oldest written copy of the kids-pictures and MoneyGram-arrow stories it could find is a Steemit fan post dated April 5, 2018. That is after both the DonorsChoose gift and the Walmart deal.
  • MoneyGram's annual 10-K report for 2017 already named Walmart its largest agent. An arrow on Walmart pointed at the most obvious name on the list.
  • The video says the Twitter copy of the MoneyGram arrow that fans still share decodes to an upload date of August 5, 2018, four months after the Walmart news. That dates only the copy, not the original.
  • Malta's cabinet had approved a first draft of a national blockchain strategy in April 2017, so a Malta flag in a February 2018 crypto picture was not secret knowledge.
  • A useful test for any 'insider' claim: one dated post that says something nobody else knew yet. The video found none.

A Bullrunners video checked the dates on Bearableguy123’s best-known 2018 XRP clues: his kids pictures, his MoneyGram arrow on Walmart and his Malta flag. According to the video, every dated version of those clues appeared after the DonorsChoose gift, the Walmart deal or Malta’s XRP headline, not before. It found no dated post showing advance knowledge.

Bearableguy123’s 589 picture still circulates in the XRP community as a possible insider leak. Holders who treat these clues as signals should know which ones carry a timestamp and which live only in community memory. The video also shows what treating good news or cheering posts as buy signals would have cost in 2018.

This is the fourth episode in a series. An earlier episode looked at Bearableguy123’s YES chart. The rule in this one is simple: receipts or it doesn’t count.

What actually happened in spring 2018?

Three pieces of documented news sit underneath the Bearableguy123 stories:

  1. March 28, 2018: Ripple and its executives gave $29 million to DonorsChoose, a site where public school teachers ask the public to fund classroom supplies. The gift paid for every open request on the site, 35,647 of them.
  2. April 3, 2018: MoneyGram and Walmart announced a new deal. The video says it was signed on March 30.
  3. August 1, 2018: Malta’s prime minister, Joseph Muscat, tweeted that Malta was the new leading trader of XRP, pointing to Ripple’s quarterly report.

The donation did not lift the price. According to the video, XRP closed around $0.58 on the day of the gift and around $0.51 the next day. On the video’s numbers, $10,000 in XRP fell to about $8,850 in a day.

Did Bearableguy123 post kids pictures before the DonorsChoose gift?

According to the video, no one has produced a dated kids picture from before March 28, 2018. The story says he posted pictures of children for weeks before the donation. The video says nobody has shown a single one with a date on it.

The video says checking is hard. It reports that his Reddit group went private after Valentine’s Day 2018 and that his Twitter account did not open until March. On that account, anything he posted during most of those weeks sat behind a locked door or on an account only days old.

The oldest written copy the video could find is a fan post on Steemit, a blogging site that the video says timestamps every post. The video dates it to April 5, 2018, a few days after the gift. About the kids, the post says he “was quick to point out that he had said so.” In the video’s reading, the credit was claimed after the news, first by him and then by his fan. Until someone shows a dated picture from before March 28, the video classes the kids story as a community claim.

Did the MoneyGram arrow on Walmart predict the deal?

The video found that every dated version of the MoneyGram arrow story comes after the Walmart announcement. The same Steemit post says he posted a picture of MoneyGram’s list of companies with an arrow on Walmart back in January. That claim was also written down after the deal was public.

The story has a second problem. MoneyGram’s annual 10-K report for 2017, which the video says was filed on March 16, 2018, already named Walmart as its largest agent. That means the store chain doing the most MoneyGram business. Walmart accounted for about $1 of every $6 MoneyGram took in during 2017. According to the video, the same report said the Walmart contract would expire on February 1, 2019. The deal’s press release said the companies had worked together for nearly two decades.

An arrow on Walmart pointed at the biggest name on the list, with a contract coming up. The video compares it to guessing the Cowboys will play on Thanksgiving: you would be right, but you would not need an insider.

MoneyGram was also in the XRP headlines that January. On January 11, 2018, Ripple announced that MoneyGram would test XRP. The video suggests a January picture about MoneyGram could simply have been a fan riffing on that week’s news.

What the image file reveals

According to the video, a fan on the Bearableguy123 subreddit asked in January 2019 where the MoneyGram picture was. Someone replied with a link to an image stored on Twitter, the copy that fan lists still use. The video says Twitter names uploaded images with a code that begins with a timestamp. By its reading, that code decodes to August 5, 2018, four months after the Walmart news.

The video is clear that this only dates the copy. Someone could have re-uploaded an older picture, and an original with a January date could sit in the private Reddit group. Nobody has shown one.

Was the Malta flag an early call?

The video rates the Malta flag as a soft hit at best. The 589 picture includes a Malta flag, and the community dates that picture to February 14, 2018. The original file link is dead, so that date rests on community consensus, not a timestamp.

Malta was already chasing crypto. In April 2017, Malta’s cabinet approved a first draft of a national blockchain strategy, almost a year before the flag. On March 23, 2018, a few weeks after the flag, the world’s biggest crypto exchange said it would open operations in Malta. The video gives the flag credit for that timing. But in the video’s words, a Malta flag in a crypto picture that February was like a Texas flag in a picture about oil.

The headline fans score as the hit, Malta as the leading trader of XRP, did not exist until August 1. According to the video, $10,000 in XRP shrank to about $3,900 between the flag and the tweet.

What did Bearableguy123 actually post in May 2018?

According to the video, his archived May 2018 posts all react to news that was already public. The video says the Internet Archive saved a dated copy of his Twitter profile, and it walks through the posts:

  • May 5: a shoutout list, “Ripple is a world changer,” plus fan accounts to follow.
  • May 10: shares a tweet from Ripple’s CEO.
  • May 13: shares a same-day blog article about payment companies using Ripple’s XRP product.
  • May 17: shares a fan’s tweet about a rumored government meeting on crypto that day. The video traces the rumor to one line in the Wall Street Journal a week earlier. Nothing came of it. His line, “Secret hands play anonymous cards against Ripple, and Ripple is in good hands,” is now clipped as a warning about the SEC lawsuit. The SEC filed that suit on December 22, 2020, more than two and a half years later.
  • May 19: praises Xpring, Ripple’s program to fund companies building with XRP. Ripple had announced Xpring on May 14.
  • May 24: “No more Mr. Nice Guy,” with a same-day Bloomberg story about a federal criminal investigation into Bitcoin price manipulation.

The video’s point is that every post came on or after the news. According to the video, XRP closed around $0.90 on May 5 and around $0.63 on May 24, so $10,000 became roughly $6,980.

A heart-shaped picture from that spring, also called a leak, lists Ripple product names: Ripple, XRP, Ledger, xCurrent, xRapid, xVia, Cobalt and Codius. The video notes that all of these were public by spring 2018. The heart has no date, so the video calls it a word list, not a call.

Is MoneyGram = 111 meaningful?

The video concludes that the MoneyGram gematria match is consistent with chance. Gematria assigns numbers to letters. With A=1 through Z=26, MONEYGRAM adds to 111, and Ripple’s MoneyGram test was announced on January 11 (1/11). The video tested eight words from the spring lore against their own dates written several ways: MoneyGram, Walmart, Malta, Ripple, DonorsChoose, Kids, Xpring and Bloomberg. Chance predicted about one match, and the test found exactly one. The video calls it a fun footnote and nothing more.

How to judge any insider claim

The video sets a clear bar: one post with a date on it that says something nobody else knew yet. It sorts the evidence like this:

Label Items
Documented DonorsChoose gift (Mar 28), MoneyGram-Walmart deal (Apr 3), Malta tweet (Aug 1), Steemit post (Apr 5), Twitter arrow copy (Aug 5), May 2018 posts
Still reading Whether the August copy is the same picture described from January
Cipher garnish MoneyGram = 111
Community claim Kids pictures before the gift, January arrow, Malta flag as a call
Not supported That he knew anything before it was public

The video also points to the biggest miss: the 589 end-of-year picture. According to the video, XRP closed 2018 at around $0.35. It adds that even back then, a thread on the main Ripple forum on Reddit was titled “Don’t be fooled by Bearableguy123.” The video’s verdict is that he was a fan with good timing, not a source of leaks.

What to watch next

The next episode will look at the letters, Christmas and a castle riddle that fans were already arguing about in April 2018, under the same receipts rule. The video asks anyone with a dated kids picture from before March 2018, or a January-dated MoneyGram arrow, to share it. Until then, the useful habit is to keep documented news and community stories separate, and to check for a timestamp before treating any clue as a signal.

Does MoneyGram really equal 111 in gematria?

Using A=1 through Z=26, MONEYGRAM adds up to 111, which matches January 11, the date of Ripple's MoneyGram test announcement. The video tested eight words from the same lore and found one match, which is about what chance predicts.
